DESCRIPTION:Trinity needs volunteers to help with the Tenafly Community Night on Tuesday\, September 17. \nThe Community Night is sponsored by the Tenafly Police and Recreation Departments. Their aim is to help everyone become aware of the services provided to the community while furnishing demonstrations of safety issues along with the fun\, free food\, and fireworks. Many local businesses take part in the evening’s activities. All of this is centered around the Fire and Police Departments on River Edge Road. In the past years\, we have had a good response to our participation and we’re looking forward to being part of the celebration again this year. We will have banners\, brochures and various items to pass out to anyone who stops by our table. \nHowever\, our table needs people to man it\, to chat with passersby\, to answer questions and to hand out the articles we have. So\, we’re looking for anyone willing to make him/herself available from either 5 to 6:30 p.m. or 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Everyone who participated in the past has been surprised to find it an enjoyable\, gratifying evening. Chairs can be provided for anyone not able to stand for long periods of time and we have broken it into two time periods of an hour and a half each. \nCome help Trinity introduce itself as a welcoming place of worship for everyone. There may be a new member just waiting for you to reach out to them \nPlease sign the sheet to participate in Tenafly Community Night\, September 17 and indicate whether you are interested in the earlier or later part of the evening.

DESCRIPTION:Trinity Lutheran Church in Tenafly is making plans to participate in the September 8\, 2019\, “God’s Work\, Our Hands” Sunday\, and we hope everyone will be an enthusiastic partner. \nWith last year’s success of assembling a whopping 1000 “weekend snack packs” for needy children\, we’ve decided to up the ante and go for 1500 this year. These packs have proven to be enormously popular and successful in providing nutritious snacks for needy children who otherwise must do without on the weekends and return to school complaining of fatigue\, headaches\, dizziness and stomach aches due to lack of food. \nImmediately following the service on September 8\, we will gather in the narthex to assemble the packs. All materials will be supplied since the packs are strictly regulated. Items will be arranged in groups on the tables so all you’re required to do is place them in the provided zip-lock bags\, zip the bags and place them in boxes. There will be someone to demonstrate the most efficient way to position items in the bags so everything fits. The boxes will then be taken to the Center for Food Action in Englewood for distribution. \nFeel free to invite friends to join in the fun on September 8. Pizza will be provided for anyone who is hungry. \nCome. Make this year even better than 2018.
