Please join our friends from other Christian churches in town for our annual Good Friday Walk on April 18th. The walk will begin at 1:00pm at the Church of the Atonement, on the corner of Highwood Avenue and Engle Street, and continue through Tenafly, making stops at various churches for readings and music followed by a brief time for meditation and reflection. The final stop will be at Trinity, finishing about 3:00pm. We encourage everyone to take part in at least a portion of this observance if you’re not able to do the entire two hours. Also, carpooling is possible if the walk is too much effort.
On the evening of Good Friday, there will be a Tenebrae service at 7:00pm. The Passion of Christ will be read in increments while the candles on the candelabra are extinguished one by one, leaving the sanctuary in semi-darkness to help us sense the loneliness and isolation of Jesus in his solitary anguish as he faced death on the cross.
